Windows are pragmatic and allows for dialogue between inside and outside through transparent material. In this exercise the transperancy is of least importance. The shape, materials, level of details that make the rest of the window could possibly tell us the identity of a building. The era it was build in, the purpose, how it was made, the proces behind and maybe even who drew it? The intention with this small exercise is to investigate exactly that. How much can a window alone tell about the overall architectural proces? The pictures present a variaty of windows which all tell a different story. It should be clear, at least to some extent that the ornamentation in windows have decreased as a result of different approaches to architecture and in some cases left the window as a scaleless figure.
